This is what we are going to create in the following tutorial.
Create a new photoshop file with flyer dimensions. We used the settings shown below.
Create a rectangular selection using rectangular marquee tool.
Create blue and Black as foreground and background colors. From filter menu select Render>Difference Clouds.
From bottom of the layer palette click on "Add vector mask". Press D to reset the foreground and background colors to default B&W. Select gradient tool. Apply in linear mode to create a soft blend from top of the image.
Create a rectangular selection using rectangular marquee tool.
Using gradient tool apply a blue to white gradient.
From filter menu select Distort>>Wave. Apply settings as shown below.
From bottom of the layer palette click on "Add vector mask". Press D to reset the foreground and background colors to default B&W. Select gradient tool. Apply in linear mode to create a soft blend from top of the image.
Create a duplicate layer and move a bit.
From filter menu select distort>twirl. Apply settings as shown below.
Using custom shape tool (U), create a shape "Registration Target 2".
Reduce opacity by 23%.
We placed an image of musical notes over this.
Change the layer mode to screen.
From bottom of the layer palette click on "Add vector mask". Press D to reset the foreground and background colors to default B&W. Select gradient tool. Apply in linear mode to create a soft blend.
Create a few duplicates of this layer, scale down and place as shown below.
Using any third party smoke style brush apply a few strokes in a new layer.
Using pen tool creat e curve shape as shown below.
Select Brush tool and from brush palette choose a brush as shown below.
Select Direct selection tool.
Right click on the path and select stroke path.
Delete the path layer from path window. Change the layer mode to Hard mix and reduce opacity to 54%
Create a few duplicates and rotate as shown below to place randomly.
Open an image of a guitarist.
Create selection using any of your favorite selection tools. Knock out the background by inverting the selection (Shift+Ctrl+I) and pressing delete.
From filter menu select filter gallery. Apply filter "cutout" from artistic filters section. Create new effect layerand apply "poster edges".
Drag the posterize image on main file.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.
Take a duplicate of this layer. Right click and select flip vertical.
From bottom of the layer palette click on "Add vector mask". Press D to reset the foreground and background colors to default B&W. Select gradient tool. Apply in linear mode to create a soft blend reflection.
Apply text with stylish effect and place on top of the flyer.
