If some of the unwanted area is covered in the mask you can select the brush and drag on that unwanted area.  For instance in this picture the side mirror is covered in the colour range.  You can get rid of this by applying some brush on that area.

Once again press Q to come out of quick mask mode.

The red area of the car is selected.

From bottom of the layer palette select new adjustment layer and select Hue/Saturation.

Apply settings as shown below.

As a result the red colour area is now converted to green colour.

You can apply same method to change all the area of the car body to the desired colour.

The final effect looks a little unnatural, maybe if you blended it or added some
effects. But as a basic tut this is good! Easy to follow steps and really
detailed too. Thanks for sharing this tutorial!

since there is only one color in it....
