In this tutorial we will create a wallpaper for Halloween, dark spooky night with stars, flying bats, witch on a broom. Heres the output.

Start by creating a new file. We used the size below.

Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.

From filter menu select render >> clouds >> difference clouds.

Create a circle using elliptical shape tool.

From filter menu select Blur >> Gaussian Blur.

Apply settings as shown below.

Using custom shape tool create a registration target 2 shape as shown below.

From filter menu select Blur >> Gaussian Blur.

Apply settings as shown below.

Changed the layer mode to luminosity.

Create a new layer.  Using gradient tool create a gradient as shown below. 

Applied the gradient in radial mode in new layer.  Change layer mode to overlay.

Insert the silhouette cutout of a flying witch on a broom.
